Enduro-X is back for 2013
The success of the debut event forced organisers to look at a location capable of handling more spectators than Broadmeadows MX Park, with the Thunderdome section of Calder Park Raceway recently confirmed as the venue for the 2013 event.
Motorcycle insurance specialists, Insure My Ride, have signed on as title sponsor for next year's Enduro-X, which will take place at Calder Park on Sunday, February 3rd.
The event has already attracted a number of international riders, who will be battling against the local talent for a prize pool of over $14,000.
Chief organiser Dave Robbins said the move to Calder Park will ensure Enduro-X 2013 provides more convenience, better access and improved facilities for spectators.
"We had a great venue for our first event, but local council and limitations on car parking became an issue we could not resolve," Robbins explained.
"Relocating to Calder Park Raceway eliminated those issues and has given us a great step forward for the future of this event. We are on the site of the old Thunderdome complex.
"There is great scope to build a good viewing course and cater for riders, spectators, car parking and all the infrastructure needed. It's a great package for us with unlimited scope to create a world class track," Robbins added.
InsureMyRide Manager Luke Smith, himself a keen fan of the sport, commented: "We have watched this event grow in stature over its short history. With Dave and Col's event experience, and respect in the motorcycle industry it was a natural alignment (for us). We are really looking forward to being involved."
