Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to reunite riders in 2022
The global phenomenon that is the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has confirmed details for the 2022 event, which will be held on Sunday, 22 May.
After more than two years apart due to COVID-19, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is focussed on bringing people together in 2022, encouraging folks to connect with their fellow gentlefolk and ride together for men’s health.
While the DGR has taken many forms over the last two years, the 2022 campaign brings the focus back to group riding, while reminding people of the importance of maintaining quality wellbeing and educating participants on important facts concerning prostate cancer.
Supporting Movember, the DGR’s official charity partner since 2016, the ride is dedicated to bring communities together - in over 700 cities and 100 countries worldwide – to raise awareness of prostate cancer and help folks make stronger and more meaningful connections.
“2022 marks an amazing year for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. It’s the first year of a new decade for us, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by announcing a further five years with both Triumph and Movember.” said Mark Hawwa, Founder of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
“These partnerships allow us to continue to raise awareness and funds and implement them into life-changing projects and research in mental health and prostate cancer.”
“The event is looking to bring this wonderful community together again, and in full force. We’ve heard from our riders - they want to connect and feel connected. So this year, we have worked to ensure we have more rides operating around the world, so that we can celebrate this new decade of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022.”
Joining longtime DGR sponsor Triumph Motorcycles this year is iconic guitar company Gibson, with the two famous brands joining forces for the “1959 Legends Custom Collaboration” that will see a one-off Triumph Bonneville and bespoke Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar used as major prizes during the 2022 DGR fundraising campaign.
Other prizes on offer this year include three additional 1959 Legends custom edition Les Paul Standard Reissue guitars, a new Triumph from the Modern Classic range, a Hedon DGR helmet for each of the top 50 fundraisers and a unique MotoGP or Superbike experience for the top fundraiser of their official team, courtesy of ELF Lubricants.
To be held on Sunday, 22 May, the 2022 DGR invites male and female owners of classic, classically-inspired and vintage-style motorcycles, sidecar outfits and scooters to dress dapper, join a ride in their area and raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
