Billed as the greatest event in extreme sports history, the Night of World Records, to be held at Melbourne's Calder Park Raceway on Saturday, March 29th, will see America's Seth Enslow, Ryan Capes and Australia's Robbie Maddison going all out to see who can beat Maddison's distance record.
More than ten separate World records for distance and altitude, on dirt bikes, quads, road bikes, mini bikes and even snowmobiles (!) will be attempted on the night, all in a million dollar, purpose-built arena at Calder Park.The event will also include the full Crusty "Unleash Hell Tour" FMX show, plus a rock concert!In the lead up to the event, Enslow, the wild boy of freestyle motocross, believes he has the advantage over his compatriots. "I'm ready for this. I'm coming to Australia to put my body and life on the line, it's my time," he announced, throwing out the challenge to Capes & Maddison.Industry insiders say this is a big call from the Crusty legend, whose injury list includes breaking almost every bone imaginable, including his skull which now houses three titanium plates. Maddison, on the other hand, knows the record can be his."I'm ready to step up to the big one," the Aussie record-setter said. "I already own two world records including the longest 125cc long distance jump, so I know I will be close". To venue for the Night of World Records will include the world's biggest ever down ramp at 125 foot long and 60 foot high and wide. More than 30,000 tones of dirt will be used to build the arena.To complement the record breaking component, a full Crusty Demons freestyle show will be presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. This will include US FMX stars, World number one Nate Adams, 2007 X Games gold medallist Adam Jones, Jim McNeil, plus Aussies Blake 'Bilko' Williams, Steve Mini, Matt Schubring and more.Over 30,000 people are expected for the world record show.
