CFMoto release 500SR Voom

CFMoto have expanded their range, releasing the limited-edition 500SR Voom. Combining retro styling elements already seen on the XO Papio Racer with high-tech engineering, the 500SR Voom is a full-power sportsbike that’s limited to just 90 units for Australia.

Prior to its local release in May, the 500SR Voom set a new class record on the salt at Lake Gairdner Speed Week. In the 500P-P category, a stock 500SR Voom set a top speed of 227.42km/h (141.31mph), easily beating the previous record of 199.14km/h (123.73mph).

The Voom is powered by a high-revving 499cc DOHC inline four, with outputs of 58kW at 12,500rpm and 49Nm at 10,000rpm, 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 220km/h. These numbers place the Voom outside of LAMS limits, so it cannot be ridden by learner riders. The liquid-cooled four-stroke engine is matched to a six-speed transmission with slipper clutch and (upshift only) quickshifter.

To suit the Voom’s sporting credentials, the 41mm USD front suspension and multi-link rear suspension are adjustable for rebound and preload. There’s a 20-step adjustable steering damper, too. Braking is made up of dual 300mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a 220mm rear disc with single-piston caliper. Calipers are from J.Juan and dual-channel ABS is standard. Wheels are 17-inch alloys.

The Voom’s styling is inspired by sports bikes from the 1980s and ’90s, with dual circular LED head and tail lights, plus dual exhaust outlets. Bar-end mirrors and a compact tail unit with pillion pad are other notable features. Two colours are offered – Nebula White and Zephyr Blue. The former adds bronze wheels and black accents on the bodywork, while the latter has black and silver accents, with black wheels.

The Voom’s wet weight is 194kg, fuel capacity is 15.5 litres and the seat height is 795mm, with higher and lower seats optional.

Standard tech includes two-level traction control, a 5-inch TFT instrument display and dual USB ports. An optional T-Box module allows smartphone connectivity via the CFMOTO Ride App, with over-the-air updates, plus ride logging, security tracking and IMU-based ride analysis

Priced from $10,999 MSRP, the 500SR Voom is backed by a 2-year warranty that extends to 3 years when serviced at an authorised CFMoto dealer.
