Casey Stoner to ride at Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
Another reason has been added to attend this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix on 17-19 October, with Casey Stoner to make an on-track return to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit where he achieved six consecutive premier class victories from 2007 to 2012.

Since he retired from racing 13 years ago, Stoner has been a special guest and commentator for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix on several occasions, but this year will mark the first time he has ridden a race bike at Phillip Island since 2012. Back then, Stoner not only won the race, but was on pole and set the fastest race lap!

Celebrating the two-time MotoGP World Champion’s incredible legacy at his home track, Stoner’s celebration at Phillip Island will get underway with the Homecoming Ride on Thursday, 16 October. Stoner will lead the ride from San Remo to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for two laps of the track. The allure of joining Stoner on such a special occasion saw Homecoming Ride tickets sell out within days of their release on 4 September.

In addition to the Homecoming Ride, Stoner will also take a special Lap of Honour on Saturday, 18 October and Sunday, 19 October. Times and further details for this will be revealed closer to the event on motogp.com.au
“Phillip Island has given me some of my greatest career moments, so to return by leading the Homecoming Ride and be recognised with a Lap of Honour is very special,” Stoner said. “It’s a great chance to celebrate and thank the fans whose passion, energy and loyalty throughout my career is something I’ll always cherish.”

Beyond Stoner’s appearance and Aussie representation in all three grand prix classes, other attractions at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2025 include the return of historic racing, with the Superbike Masters to be the national support class.
