Calvin wins MX Nats McFarlane award
Calvin "switched teams" for the series finale at Coolum, riding for JDR Motorex KTM. Racing to 15th overall after suffering a DNF in race one due to a flat tyre, Calvin had his best result of the day with a ninth place finish in the final moto.
"It's been a great season with ups and downs, I'm really happy to get the opportunity to ride for JDR Motorex KTM," said Calvin, who has done most of his racing this season on the Herb Watson-supported KTM 350 SX-F.
"It's great to win the Andrew McFarlane Privateer Cup and have something to show for all of our hard work."
Held in honour of the late Andrew McFarlane, the Privateer Cup holds a great deal of significance and motivation for all privateers, after its namesake took the Pro Open championship early in his career as a privateer before going on to international success in both Europe and the US.
