Black Dog Ride 2013 - get involved!
The event has proven so popular, in fact, that last year's event saw over 500 riders register, and this year's full seven-day 'Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre' in August is booked out. There are still ways for riders to get involved and support this worthwhile cause, though.
A number of single day and night ride options are available, starting from all points on the compass. These allow interested riders and pillions to still take part and support the event for a day, night or more, without committing to the full ride.
With groups departing major and regional centres around the country, you have the security of riding in a group, and the flexibility to join when and where it suits (the Black Dog Ride website has a full and detailed state by state itinerary).
Options and entry fees (correct at time of print) are as follows.
1. Day Rider: $30
Rides to the lunch stop on day 1 or joins the ride for a while along the way (no overnight stops). Receives BDR badge and 1 ticket in Red Centre Raffle.
2. Night Rider: $60
Rides for first day and stays at least 1 night overnight. Receives BDR badge and decal, and 2 tickets in the Red Centre Raffle.
3. Red Centre Rider: SOLD OUT
4. Pillion Rider: $20
Receives a BDR badge and 1 ticket in the Red Centre Raffle.
5. Red Centre Support Crew Driver $110
For Official Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre Support Crew Drivers only. Receives BDR badge and decal and 4 tickets in the Red Centre Raffle.
6. Red Centre Support Crew Passenger $20
For Official Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre Support Crew Passengers only. Receives BDR badge and 1 x ticket in the Red Centre Raffle.
Note 1: Due to the Red Centre Rider category selling out, option 2 (Night Rider) has been extended to include up to 3 nights (but NOT INCLUDING Port Augusta, Coober Pedy or Alice Springs).
Note 2: To take part in the Black Dog Ride, you MUST register, and entry numbers are limited for certain options. Register early to make sure you don't miss out! Registration is open to July 31, or until all ticket options sell out.
Alice Springs is the finish point for the ride on August 23, where a dinner, party, live entertainment and more will see the event conclude in fine style.
So, if you and your bike are ready for a bit of adventure all in support of a great cause, see the website registration portal - http://redcentre2013.eventbrite.com.au - for all the Ts & Cs, or contact the organisers via the listed details.
