Bike Sales Figures. August 2006
Honda leads the overall market with a total of 13,141 units, up 21% from the same time last year. Postie Bike CT 110s aside, Honda is booming across the board and is particularly gaining on what has always been Yamaha's dominant position in the dirt bike sector. CRF 230F up and CRF 450X sales up 23% and 29% respectively.
Like Yamaha, Honda are also making a concerted effort to get a bigger slice of the growing scooter pie. Sales of the Lead 100 scooter and CBF2 250 commuter going "extremely well" according to Honda's General Manager, Motorcycles, Tony Hinton. CRF 50 and CRF 150 fun bikes are also holding their own against big numbers of pocket bike imports.
