Bike of the Month. December 2008
A big selection of the best aftermarket parts, quality engineering, high performance, engine and unique paint all add up to a very special package. This month, South Coast Customs have a very special bike that just about any prospective chopper buyer would be proud to own.
Those that really know their custom choppers will notice the abundance of Ness parts used throughout, but this particular custom boasts a host of other features that may not be immediately apparent at first glance. Starting life as a 2006 custom built Harley Pro Street, this bike has since received a 2-inch custom stretch - up and out - and gained a 40 degree rake. It is powered by a 1700cc (yes, 1700cc!) V-Twin, delivering the power through a Jim's five-speed transmission and Primo 3 inch Brute belt drive open primary. Both motor and 'box are centred in the frame to deliver a perfectly balanced ride. The show-polished 124 cube motor has diamond cut fins and Arlen Ness covers are used throughout. It boasts custom fabricated guards, oil tank, coil cover, swingarm and aluminium fuel tank. It rides on Arlen Ness 'Evil Seven' wheels with matching rotors. Up front there is an Arlen Ness 'Massive Glide' front end, which has been stretched 4 inches. The rear features a 260 tyre with an Exile rear brake and sprocket assembly. With a pair of Ness 6-piston calipers on the twin-rotor front end, that adds up to some pretty impressive stopping power!
There is a custom seat, Carlini 1 1/2" handle bars and a host of extras that you need to see to believe. What really sets this chopper apart, though, is the spectacular custom paintwork. Superbly finished by Sydney Custom Paint, the yellow paint is enhanced by some impressive multi-coloured flames & pinstriping. So, if you want quality engineering, first rate parts and an impressive standard of workmanship in a custom that's actually rideable, this baby is definitely worth a closer look. The bike is registered and ready to go for $70,000, but South Coast Customs will negotiate on a price minus the motor and without rego. To find out more about this outstanding custom, give the team at South Coast Customs a call - but set aside a little time - as there's a LOT to talk about with this beauty!
