Bike of the month. August 2007
Highlighting their skill is this custom Harley Bobber. With strong chopper overtones, but in a very "old school" style, this unique bike started out as an in-store demonstrator, but quickly grew to gain a life and personality all its own! This bike actually started out as a roller frame kit for display in the Doc Hogs store (like the one in the inset picture above), but after a month or two, things got a little more elaborate! An 80 cubic inch Harley-Davidson Evo motor was fitted, along with a 5 speed transmission. From there, the project got serious, and a bunch of quality custom touches were added.
All the top notch chrome and billet bits aside, the standout feature of this bobber is its gambling theme. The recurring dice motif is cleverly worked into the seat, onto the fuel and oil tanks as well as the primary cover. The number plate holder continues the theme, with brake/tailights incorporated into the dice, while the chrome billet 'Ace of Spades' air cleaner is a real standout. Not surprisingly, this custom Bobber is known as "Lucky 7".
Mechanically, the bike is equipped with a fully chromed Springer front end, H.H.I brake calipers, Sampson exhaust, S & S E-Series carby, custom made spring seat (very old school!) and Ness hand controls. All of this adds up to a very impressive package, which must be seen to be appreciated. Lucky 7 had only just been completed when we compiled this issue, so if you want to see this very fresh custom bobber, get on over to Doc Hogs Reservoir store, as it's currently on display there. Following its time as the store's attention grabber, this stunning one-off bike will be put up for sale. If you are interested, get on over to Doc Hogs for a close up look and put in your bid for it. Who knows, for the right dollars you might be the lucky owner of "Lucky 7". What better way to arrive at the APL (Aust. Poker League) Poker News Cup coming up in Melbourne this October?! You may not be a high roller - but you'll certainly look like one on this baby!
