Benelli: 1130 Tre-K & 1130 Tre-K Amazonas. August 2008
Earlier this year, Benelli launched two exciting new models into Australia - the 1130 Tre-K & 1130 Tre-K Amazonas. Both models are built around the 1130cc triple that is renowned for its awesome torque and free-revving power delivery. The DOHC engine is tuned to deliver 92Kw and 112Nm via a 6 speed extractable gear box. These models look tough and their versatility makes them equally at home for long range adventure touring or commuting.
The Amazonas offering additional flexibility with fully adjustable front & rear suspension. "The Tre-K and Amazonas have been eagerly awaited in Australia since they were unveiled at the Cologne Motorcycle Expo in September 2006. They are ideally suited to Australian conditions and it is expected that these models will prove to be very popular", said Paul Nobbs, Director of the Benelli importer, Stoney Creek Powersports, at their Aussie launch. Benelli has developed a completely new trellis frame designed to create a comfortable riding position and handle rough terrain whilst still retaining Benelli's legendary handling capabilities.
The Tre-K Amazonas differs from its sibling with the addition of fully adjustable Marzocchi USD front forks and a preload adjuster on the rear suspension to make for a more versatile on and off-road touring machine. The Amazonas also offers a 19" front rim and larger (255mm) rear brake disc, with Brembo calipers common to both models. The Tre-K is slightly smaller in most dmensions than the Amazonas and its 810mm seat height is 30mm lower. An adjustable front screen deals with wind deflection and, with long tours in mind, a GPS mount point is provided as standard. For a limited time the Tre-K comes with free colour matched panniers valued at $1,199.
