Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne 2010
This year's show will play host to a number of new motorcycles not yet seen in Australia as well as a few special surprises. The Expo is set to expand with the addition of the Australian Scooter Festival and Australian PWC Show, making it a 'must-see' for fans of all things two wheels and personal watercraft. A number of new models fresh from the EICMA world trade show are also set to make their Australian debut at the Melbourne Expo.
Show organisers revealed a uniquely airbrushed machine at Phillip Island, celebrating Jorge Lorenzo's maiden MotoGP title. This all new Yamaha YZF-R15 - which will be launched at the Expo - features an incredibly detailed paint scheme in tribute to the colourful MotoGP champ. Consuming more than 100 hours of design and painting, the work was crafted by renowned airbrush artist, Mark Brown of Brown's Grafix.
The bike will take centre stage on Yamaha's stand, alongside the actual race bike of Lorenzo. Judges will also determine the winner of the East Coast Custom Australian Custom Bike Championships, while show visitors will also get the chance to enter the competition to win a $40,000 custom chopper thanks to Australian Motorcycle Imports. The entertainment and attraction schedule includes the country's top freestyle motocross riders plying their skills alongside the popular mini moto displays.
The Expo is staged November 26-28, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Adults $18, Concession: $13, Children (5-15 years) $13, Under 5 are free.
