Australian 4-Day Enduro ready to launch
Warragul local, Daniel Milner, will be using his intimate knowledge of the Buln Buln terrain, just 10 minutes outside Warragul, to his absolute advantage when the competition starts on Wednesday.
21-year-old Milner, who helped Australia earn a second-place out of 24 nations at the prestigious 2012 International Six Day Enduro in Germany, is hoping he can maintain his current form for the A4DE.
"I'll have the home ground advantage," said Daniel, who won his first Australian Off-Road Championship this past August.
"The tracks up Warragul way are really good, they're tight and are really suited for enduro. I've been riding around the area since I went to primary school. I just want to go out there and ride the best I can. If I manage a win then that would be unreal," Daniel added.
Australia's biggest names in enduro will be taking part in the A4DE including Toby Price, Chris Hollis, Matt Phillips, Glenn Kearny, Stefan Merriman, as well as Italian enduro star Alex Salvini. Over 150 riders will be involved in this year's competition.
The Australian 4-Day Enduro is one of the country's most challenging enduro competitions where riders will traverse over 200 kilometres on specially-designed courses each day on extremely challenging terrain. At the end of the four days, rider's times will be added collectively to determine the winner.
There will also be special time trials where riders have the chance to make-up time on their nearest rivals. Various competitions will also feature during the four-day event, including state versus state battles, the Oceania Challenge, and trade and club team duals.
The 2012 Yamaha WR450F Australian 4-Day Enduro takes place at the Buln Buln Sports Ground on Station Street, off Old Sale Road, from Wednesday, October 24 until Saturday, October 27.
