ATV racing is set to get EXPLOSIVE! April 2008

While it looks awesome, this Yamaha Raptor 700R-based ATV is no mere showpony. Explosive have built this high-powered unit specifically to take on the Yanks at the upcoming World 4 Stroke Series.

Held at Sand Mountain, Nevada, this coming May, the event will see hundreds of competitors pit their machines against one another in hillclimb competiton on the region's huge dunes. Already boasting an 804cc engine with 105.5mm pistons, 1mm oversize valves, Garret turbocharger, custom grind turbo cam, 8mm Stroker crank, Morristech ECU, 12" chromoly swingarm extension, Marvin Shaw shocks, lockup clutch, billet alloy drag axle and plenty more trick bits, the Explosive ATV is currently putting out an impressive 122hp with 15psi boost on C16 race fuel.

As this issue went to press, the Explosive Raptor is being converted to run on Alky methanol with expectations of 140+hp, that's about four times the power of a stock Raptor! While the Explosive crew are confident they can secure the World 4 Stroke Title for Australia, what they desperately need is sponsorship assistance.
