Aprilia Tuono V4 R Special Edition now available
The 'Tuono V4 R APRC ABS Special Edition' features $6,000 of extra value in the form of RSV4 components, Ohlins suspension and carbon fibre dress-up parts.
Australia's Aprilia distributors, John Sample Automotive, says the special edition was created after years of demand from local enthusiasts - Italy wouldn't produce one, so JSA decided to make their own.
"Since the release of the Tuono in 2011 we have received many requests for the "Factory" version fitted with Ohlins suspension, but Aprilia has still not produced the bike," said Kris Matich, General Manager of JSA.
"Following the success of the RSV4 Carbon Limited Edition in 2012, JSA decided to create this special edition Tuono here in Australia.
"The project uses the exact same Ohlins suspension as is fitted to the RSV4 Factory and the assembly of the components is being supervised by Marco Bellamonte, a former Aprilia technician who joined JSA in January this year."
Limited numbers of these special edition bikes will be produced, so if you have been waiting for the very top spec Tuono V4, JSA advise you will need to get in touch with your Aprilia dealer very soon.
The Tuono V4 R APRC ABS Special Edition includes:
- Ohlins front suspension
- Ohlins Steering damper
- Ohlins rear shock absorber
- Carbon front guard
- Carbon rear hugger
- Carbon under seat panels
- Carbon tank cover
- RSV4 Tail fairing and seat (standard seat also supplied)
- Special Edition graphics
- Special Edition Plate
The Tuono V4's 125kW 999cc V4 engine is unaltered, as is the 6-speed transmission and rider assist features like Dynamic Race ABS, traction control, wheel control, launch control and quick shifter.
Dry weight is listed at 183kg and seat height at 835mm.
The Special Edition Tuono V4 will be available in both Matt White and Matt Black, for an RRP of $26,990.00 (excluding ORCs). Estimated Ride Away price is $28,990.
