Alex Davis announced as Australian MotoGP ambassador
The striking model is a motorcycling fan and showed off her revhead tendencies when she appeared at the premiere of the 'Senna' documentary earlier this year.
"I'm really a tomboy at heart and grew up riding around our property on dirt bikes with my dad," said Davis who is represented by Chadwick Management.
"Since then, I've spent a lot of time holidaying on Phillip Island and can't wait to experience all the action that MotoGP has to offer, along with promoting this beautiful part of the world."
To further extend her enjoyment of motorbike riding, Davis revealed that she has already completed her Victorian motorbike learner's permit at Honda's HART facility.
"I've always wanted to get my motorbike licence and this opportunity inspired me to finally do it," Davis said.
"It was a lot harder than I expected, but really fun and I learnt a lot about road rules and rider safety."
Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Andrew Westacott said Davis was a natural fit and will be a great ambassador for the Phillip Island race.
"We were immediately drawn to Alex by her incredible spark and passion for outdoor sports and adventure," said Westacott.
"When she told us that she grew up riding dirt bikes and that Phillip Island was like her second home, we knew she was the perfect person to promote our great event and picturesque circuit."
The 2011 IVECO Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will take place at Phillip Island, this coming October 14-16. For ticketing availability and further details, visit www.motogp.com.au or call Foxtix on 1800 100 030.
