2023 LAMBRETTA V-SPECIAL 200 ARRIVES

The 2023 version of Lambretta’s V-Special 200 has arrived in Australia, with the main difference being a range of new colours.

Following its re-introduction to the Australian market in 2018, the Lambretta range has undergone several changes, including dropping the smaller capacity V50 and V125 V-Special, and introducing the G350 and X300 models last year. For now, the V-Special 200 is the only new model that Lambretta Australia are bringing in.

Overall, styling on the 2023 V-Special 200 is identical to what’s been offered previously, with the modern take (by Kiska) retaining signature Lambretta design touches. The headlight shape, fixed front mudguard, flat seat and other elements are unchanged.

The key cosmetic difference for 2023 is that Lambretta identification is minimised. Where recent years have seen bold decals added to the engine covers, there’s none of that on the 2023 model.

Four colours are available: Matte Black, Matte Green, Yellow and White. Both matte options are accented with black wheels and black trim for the headlight, legshield, air vents, fork legs, exhaust shield, switchblocks, levers and mirrors. The yellow version is much the same, but adds chrome mirrors, while the white option has the most bling, with chrome levers and bar ends, chrome mirrors, fork legs and body trim. The white V-Special 200 also has gunmetal grey wheels and a red seat.

Cosmetics aside, everything else on the V-Special 200 for 2023 is familiar, including the steel frame, tele fork front and dual shock rear suspension, 12-inch wheels, a 169cc petrol engine and CVT transmission. The four-stroke single produces 8.8kW at 8000rpm and 12.2Nm at 6500rpm. Top speed is 100km/h and listed fuel consumption is 2.9lt/100km.

Disc brakes front and rear incorporate Bosch ABS, all the lighting is LED and the instrumentation combines an analogue speedo with LCD screen. Storage includes a luggage hook, glovebox in the legshield (with a USB socket) and underseat space that can take an open face helmet.

Seat height is 800mm and tank capacity 6 litres. Weight is not listed, but should be in the 130kg range.
