2017 BMW Safari dates confirmed
BMW Motorrad Australia has announced dates for their 2017 Safari programme and also launched a new concept - GS Tours by BMW Safari.
Now in its 23rd year, the BMW Safaris will reach new heights, according to BMW Motorrad Australia General Manager, Andreas Lundgren.
“I am looking forward to this year's BMW Safaris. Taking the Enduro Safari to the very tip of Cape York is an exciting endeavour, as is locating the TS and GS Safari in the great expanses of Western Australia,” Lundgren said.
“We are also pleased to launch the GS Tours by BMW Safari. The new programme will give BMW GS riders further opportunities to experience the unique character of our motorcycles.”
BMW Safari Dates 2017
2017 GS SAFARI ENDURO - CAPE YORK, QLD
5 - 12 August
Exploring far-north Queensland, from Cairns to Cape York and back, this trip provides sensational scenery and an adventurous riding experience. The GS Safari last visited Cape York in 2006, so BMW expect this year's adventure to sell out in record time.
2017 GS/TS SAFARI - PERTH, WA
9 - 13 October
The first BMW Safari to visit Western Australia, this combined GS and TS Safari will see TS riders on the road and GS riders take to the dirt. The two groups congregate each evening of the 5-day tour to share experiences and highlights.

GS Tours by BMW Safari – NEW!
Designed mainly for newcomers, this series of shorter adventure rides has been added for 2017, with the first GS Tour to the Victorian high country already sold out.
In conjunction with this, a new initiative is the 'Bring a Buddy programme' that’s aimed to introduce new riders to the adventure riding scene: a GS rider can bring a friend on these tours, even if they ride another brand of bike.
GS Tour participation will be capped at a smaller number of riders, but full tour support will be provided.
GS TOURS - MT. SEAVIEW (Mid-north coast NSW)
25 - 26 May: Mt Seaview, 2 day BMW Off-Road Training Course (optional).
27 - 29 May: Mt Seaview (base), 2 days of GS heaven.
GS TOURS - SIMPSON DESERT CROSSING
13 - 16 June: Alice Springs to Birdsville
For dedicated GS adventure riders that are eager to watch the iconic Finke Desert Race, this ride ticks all the boxes. Numbers are strictly limited and riders will require a high-level of off-road riding experience.
