2013 Australian MotoGP schedule announced

Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Andrew Westacott, said fans have a lot to look forward to at the 2013 event.

"In this new era of MotoGP, all eyes will be watching with great anticipation to witness the crowning of the new King of Phillip Island," he said.

"With five separate categories of racing all featuring Australian riders on one of the world's most picturesque circuits as well as two championship rounds of Supercrosss, we have a fantastic line-up for fans this October."

David White, Chief Executive Officer of Motorcycling Australia, said support category riders would once again relish the chance to demonstrate their skills in front of a passionate audience.

"The Superbike and Supersport categories are known for putting on a great show, and we will all be supporting the Aussies in the World Championship classes in front of a home crowd."

It's also worth remembering that the Australian Supercross Championship will be a part of the Phillip Island weekend, with the dedicated supercross track at Lukey Heights sure to once again be the scene of some thrills and spills.
