2012 Kawasaki KX450F
New additions on the 2012 models include an adjustable foot-peg and handle bar positioning, a slimmer rider interface and the world's first production use of Launch Control on a motocross bike. The new frame is 4mm slimmer than its predecessor, has new minimalist bodywork and a flatter tank seat. There is the choice of four different handlebar positions and two different foot-peg positions allowing the rider to tailor the bike to his riding position. The all new Launch Control is activated by the push of a handlebar mounted button, which activates a separate engine map designed to ensure efficient race starts in slippery conditions. The control retards ignition timing, allowing tyres to grip in low traction situations. Once the rider shifts into third gear, the system is automatically disengaged. Other new features on the 2012 KX450F include a new Uni-Trak rear suspension, new front Petal brake disc, narrower front tyre and lower centre of gravity, revised transmission and new factory styling.
