2009 Honda Gold Wing

Honda's 'blue chip' grand tourer, the Gold Wing gets a makeover for 2009, adding new colours and more equipment. While there is some hot competition at the luxury end of the market, the Honda GL1800 Gold- Wing remains possibly the greatest touring bike of all.

It all starts with the Gold Wing's amazing flat-six, fuel-injected 1832cc engine. From there Honda's high-tech wizardry takes long distance touring comfort and convenience to levels many competitors can only dream of. The hallmarks of the Gold Wing are remarkable comfort and exceptional carrying capacity, combined with strong performance and easy manoeuvrability.

It features a low centre of gravity, lightweight frame and aerodynamic styling in a package that is imposing from all angles.
Thanks to its smooth, quiet operation, and the wind deflecting fairing, the rider can relax and enjoy the bike's integrated
premium audio system (with CD stacker) at any speed.

Road surfaces are also smoothed out by compliant suspension systems, featuring a computer controlled adjustable pre-load damper. Honda's dual combined anti-lock brake System ensures smooth, unruffled stopping power, and for added safety, the Luxury version also incorporates the revolutionary motorcycle airbag system. To give riders an even greater sense of security on every road trip, the 2009 Luxury model also offers a centrally integrated GPS navigation with updated mapping that features easy operation while on the move.

Astride the luxurious heated seat and passenger backrest, you'll find yourself at the heart of a large, user friendly multi-function information centre. The Gold Wing's touring possibilities are further maximised with adjustable heated handlebar grips and seats, plus a range of specially tailored optional luggage accessories. For those that love luxury, there is the electronically adjustable suspension and a comfort package with heated 'everything'. While the Gold Wing is quite a beast in size, Honda has made things a little easier by incorporating a reverse gear for easy manoeuvring into tight parking spots.
