Employing an advanced 999cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine generating phenomenal power, torque and acceleration, the GSX-R1000 is the most powerful, most responsive and cleanest running open class motor-cycle Suzuki has ever built.
The GSX-R1000 is equipped with Suzuki Drive Mode Selector advanced digital engine management system featuring a handle bar mounted switch which allows the rider to easily choose from three engine settings to match riding conditions. Allowing smooth downshifts, the GSX-R1000 has a close ratio, slick shifting, six-speed transmission with an adjustable back-torque limiting clutch.
The Suzuki litre sports bike is equipped with a high volume Suzuki Advanced Exhaust System featuring a Suzuki Exhaust Tuning system for maximum torque throughout the rpm range. To accommodate various riding positions, the GSX-R1000 is equipped with adjustable rider footpegs that can be moved into three different positions for greater rider comfort. Wind tunnel developed, the GSX-R's bodywork features an aggressive style, reduced frontal area and a taller windscreen for optimum aerodynamic performance.
An easy-to-read instrument cluster includes an analogue tachometer, digital LCD speedometer, dual trip meters, a clock, convenient gear position sensor, rpm indicator light and a new LCD engine mode indicator that displays which performance setting has been selected by the rider.
Now in Australia at a RRP of $18,490 with Suzuki's two year, unlimited kilometre warranty, the 2008 GSX-R1000 is available in a choice of traditional Pearl Blue/ White, Black/ Matt Black or the new Black/ Metallic Gold liveries.
