Seller's Description
A very rare and quite collectable model is offered reluctantly due to age/health reasons. Well maintained and cared for since new. Only about 6,900 units were made due to the extremely high cost of development and manufacture. They were created to break out of the “Old Man’s Bike” image that many folk had of BMW at the time. A class museum exhibit if ever there was one and model which has been appreciating in value for a while now. I am the second owner of this machine (the original owner refused to sell it, but later died) and have it registered with club rego (which is not transferable) as I never intended to put big mileage on it, so I can supply a Qld. roadworthy certificate for you. It is an absolute delight to ride through a good set of twisty roads with excellent handling and very efficient streamlining making for effortless high speed travel and surprisingly good weather protection. Super smooth with great brakes and new tyres, this is an immaculate bike to please anybody. The turbine like smoothness of the 4 cylinder engines a delight too. The very low kilometres from new (88,000Klms) and the well established durability of these engines makes for a worry free, long ownership. Get in touch with any questions you may have.
