Australian-delivered bike, fully restored a few years ago and it has only been for a run around the block for a test ride. Engine was fully restored by Greg Ball with new everything – rod kit, piston kit, bearings/seals. Pre-jetted Mikuni from Italian SWM expert and starts and runs perfectly. Updated kickstarter. Bosch ignition rewound. Updated clutch actuator and new clutch plates/springs. Forks rebuilt with new progressive springs and rechromed fork tubes. Rebuilt Ohlins shocks. New steering head bearings and swingarm bearings. Titanium front axle and titanium bolts/nuts throughout the front end. New seat. TD airbox and new filter. New chain/sprockets. New SWM-stamped muffler. New plastic. New Michelin tyres. New Magura controls. New updated footpegs and alloy rear brake pedal. New wiring loom, lights, horn and handlebar switch. All lights and horn work. All new rubber parts. Aftermarket plastic bash plate. Lots of other new parts and some spares. Cover bike for Issue 96 of VMX Magazine. The most beautiful and competent 175 enduro bike of the era. This model SWM 175 was placed first in a test article (Cycle Guide Aug 1978) comparing the Can-Am 175, Hercules GS175, PE175, IT175 and this SWM. Currently has NSW Historic rego but not transferable.
