This 1978 Ducati 900 Super Sport Darmah, finished in its original two-tone blue paintwork, is one of the earliest examples imported to Australia. It is a rare model, with only around 1,400 produced between 1978 and 1981. The Darmah was also among the first Ducatis to feature electric start and a Bosch ignition system. This bike runs really well and is a head turner. The Darmah has 82,000 km on the odometer. It was previously owned and registered in Queensland. Its second owner purchased it in 1989 and had the engine and gearbox rebuilt by VeeTwo Australia in 1995–96. The work included new rods, larger 38mm forged pistons, a lightened and balanced crankshaft, and a cylinder rebore to suit the larger pistons. The original Dellorto dual PHF32A carburetors were replaced with 40mm Dellorto units; however, the original Dellorto carburetors are included. Records indicate that VeeTwo carried out the bike’s major services. I purchased the bike in 2023, and it has since been inspected and serviced by EuroBrit Motorbikes Australia. Recent work includes a new wiring loom, replacement starter motor field windings, a replacement tacho-drive assembly, new rear head and bevel tube O-rings, a new battery, and new fuel lines. The bike is in good running condition and, as shown in the photos, presents immaculately. It was clearly well cared for by the previous owner and has won numerous awards at bike shows throughout Queensland. This is a regretful sale as we are relocating overseas for a while, and I can’t justify keeping it to only have it sit in storage for a lengthy period. My loss will no doubt be someone else’s gain. I don't have the full-service history; however, I do have records to verify the information provided above. The bike is located in Victoria and is currently registered under a Victorian Club Permit, which expires in January 2027.
