For Sale Vintage 1957 James Captain Model K7 Villiers 197cc 8E Two Stroke engine $12,000 This bike is not suited for every rider. As shown in the pics this machine has been meticulously restored over a period of three years. This brand is relatively unknown in Australia but has a very extensive history in England. Production of James pushbikes began in 1898 with small engines coming on board early in the 20th century. They became very well known in England with the nomenclature of The Famous James. They were prolific in production and used extensively in the First and Second World Wars with various models. Production ceased in 1966 when the Japanese market swamped the motorcycle world! The total cost of purchase and restoration has been $14,901.47, all receipts and paperwork can be supplied. Powder coated frame. Everything that can be chromed has been chromed. Everything that can be stainless steel has been replaced including spokes. Tinware was professionally repaired and painted by Collide A Scope in Asquith, Sydney, NSW. This machine received more than 70 positive acknowledgments from the James Motorcycles restoration/enthusiasts on Facebook in the UK. This could be a competition winner for vintage motorbikes.
