Seller's Description
This bike was found in a shed in California and restoration began in 2004. When the bike was found it had a 1953 Norton Manx 500 (long stoke) engine no H11M252218 in a Norton Feather bed frame. The engine has double over head cam box with racing cams. Engine had a GP carby and a large magneto believed to be off an offenhauser speedway race engine. The bike has Norton road holder forks with an original John Tickle race engineering front hub and brake. The bike is also fitted with a very rare Vincent Lightning motorcycle taco. In 2017 we sent frame number and engine number to the Norton Owners club in England to try and find out some information. As you can read in the document provided the bike started life as a 1953 Dominator that was ordered new on the 28.4.1953 by Norton Dealer McGill in Vancouver It states he also ordered a Manx engine H11M252218 forks and gear box. From this info we believe McGill built a race bike using the dominator and the Manx engine he had ordered.
