Seller's Description
Just arrived - This 1951 BSA Bantam D1 Lucas is a wonderful example of the early BSA. This bike is another part of a large collection from a BSA enthusiast. The D1 Lucas, identifiable by the light switch combined with the ignition, was an optional upgrade between 1950-1953, along with plunger rear suspension. Powered by a 125cc single-cylinder two-stroke motor and a 3-speed manual transmission, the D1 has been used mostly for club rides and events such as Bay to Birdwood. It received an engine overhaul and a new battery and is in orderly running condition, but the body and paint have remained largely untouched to maintain the aged look. Simple, reliable, and easy to work on, there's a reason these bikes are so desirable to those in the classic motorbike scene. This would be a wonderful bike to join the many classic motorcycle clubs and go on club rides and events with, or to simply look pretty in the shed.
