Triumph reveals Speed Twin 1200 TFC
Triumph Motorcycles has released details on the latest model in their ‘Triumph Factory Custom’ range – the Speed Twin 1200 TFC. Based on the Speed Twin 1200 RS, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC is due for Australian release shortly, plated as a 2027 model. Defining features include upgraded equipment and unique detailing. As with previous TFC offerings, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC will be limited to just 750 units worldwide.
The fifth motorcycle to wear the TFC badge since 2019, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC follows similarly high-spec, low-volume special editions based on the Thruxton and Rocket 3, while the Bonneville Bobber has received the TFC treatment on two occasions.

TFC Style
Taking cues from previous models to wear the Triumph Factory Custom badge, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC is painted in Obsidian Gold. Exclusive to the TFC and the only colour available for this special edition, this high-gloss black finish features a gold metalflake that reacts to different light.
Complementing the Obsidian Gold is a gold stripe on the fuel tank with a marbled effect. The Triumph lozenge logo on the tank is outlined in gold, with gold accents also on the engine, fork adjusters and fork lowers.
Mudguards, sidecovers and heel guards are in carbon fibre with a gloss lacquer to complement the paint, while the rear sprocket and silencers are finished in black. Subtle ‘TFC’ identification is added to the engine covers, sidecovers, fuel tank, front mudguard and top fork yoke, with the latter also carrying each bike’s individual build number.
Completing the Speed Twin 1200 TFC’s aesthetics is a bench seat in black leather, with a grippier suede panel for the rider. This is hand stitched and features ribbing for a classic look.
Speed Twin 1200 RS base
The base for the 2027 Speed Twin 1200 TFC is the latest Speed Twin 1200 RS, which already winds the wick up on the standard Bonneville 1200 platform. The TFC takes it further.
Internally, the liquid-cooled ‘High Power’ parallel twin in the RS is unchanged for the TFC, with the same compression ratio, fuel injection and electronic throttle control. That means outputs are the same, too: 77.2kW at 7,750rpm and 112Nm at 4,250rpm.
Where the TFC differs is with its Akrapovič titanium silencers, finished in black with carbon fibre end caps. According to Triumph, these deliver an evocative Bonneville soundtrack.
The six-speed gearbox, with a slip/assist clutch, quickshifter and chain final drive is also unchanged from the Speed Twin 1200 RS, although the chain is finished in gold on the TFC.
A tubular steel cradle-type frame, aluminium swingarm and cast alloy 17-inch wheels carry over from the RS to the TFC. Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres are standard, providing what’s described as exceptional grip and feel.
Upgraded Componentry
On the chassis, TFC upgrades start with Öhlins 43mm USD forks, replacing the Marzocchi units on the Speed Twin 1200 RS. Finished in black with gold lowers, these forks are fully adjustable for compression, rebound and preload, which the Marzocchis don’t offer.
The rear shocks are Öhlins remote reservoir units of the same type as on the RS, which also offer full compression, rebound and preload adjustability. Travel is listed at 120mm up front and 123mm at the rear.
Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial four-piston calipers are fitted to the 320mm dual front discs, while the 220mm rear disc is fitted with a Nissin two-piston caliper. This set-up is unchanged from the Speed Twin 1200 RS, although the TFC does add an adjustable Brembo MCS brake lever. Designed to complement the MCS master cylinders, this lightweight, but durable lever allows tool-free adjustment to suit different riding requirements.
This lever sits on a pair of mid-mount clip-on handlebars, which replace the conventional handlebar on the RS, with bar-end mirrors fitted as standard. These clip-ons, along with the same rearset pegs as the RS, adjust the rider ergonomics to a sportier position.
Rider Tech and Safety Features
Rider-assistance features on the Speed Twin 1200 TFC starts with the Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quickshifter. Both the ABS and Traction Control are Cornering Optimised, ensuring consistent performance, regardless of lean angle or speed.
Three riding modes – Road, Rain and Sport – adjust throttle response, ABS and Traction Control intervention. Road is the default setting, with the best balance, while Sport sharpens throttle response and Traction Control intervention to suit high-performance riding. Rain mode ups the ABS intervention and softens the throttle response to deal with slippery conditions.
The single instrument pod is in the classic round shape, but houses an LCD display and full-colour TFT screen. Data presented on the latter is adjustable via the handlebar-mounted switchgear. A USB-C port is standard.
All lighting on the TFC is LED, including the multi-function rear indicators that serve as the tail and brake lights, removing the need for a conventional tail light.
Key measures include an 810mm seat height, 14.5-litre fuel capacity and 214kg wet weight.
Availability and Pricing
Only 750 units of the Speed Twin 1200 TFC will be released worldwide, and as with previous TFC creations, once this total is sold, it will not be repeated. Each bike is individually numbered and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity, branded indoor cover and waterproof seat cover.
Australian pricing for the Speed Twin 1200 TFC is $35,990 ride away. Compared to the Speed Twin 1200 RS, which was listing for $27,290 at time of writing, the extra kit, premium finishes and limited-edition status of the TFC adds $8,700.
