Following the success of the first edition of ‘United We Ride’ last year, Harley-Davidson once again rallied motorcyclists across Australia and New Zealand for a return in 2026. The second running of this charity ride supporting The Salvation Army was held on Saturday, 12 September, at more than 40 Harley-Davidson dealerships across both countries.

Despite high fuel prices and ongoing cost-of-living pressures, more than 2,500 riders took to the road for the 2026 United We Ride in a powerful demonstration of community, purpose and passion for the open road. Harley-Davidson dealerships were the hub for each ride, with the route decided by the dealerships and their knowledge of the best roads in each region. In Australia, 37 rides were held, most of which were enjoyed in fine and dry spring weather. Riders in New Zealand experienced some damp conditions, but not enough to keep them away.

Big Hearts and a Big Donation
This year, Australian participants in United We Ride raised more than $140,000 for The Salvation Army. These funds will ensure the Salvos’ can keep running frontline services for those in need, like emergency housing and financial counselling. On top of this, Harley-Davidson donated $250,000 worth of apparel and merchandise to Salvos stores across Australia and New Zealand. A roster of high-profile sporting ambassadors - including Royce Hunt of the NRL’s Wests Tigers, former rugby league stars, Brad Fittler and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, and former AFL star forward, Travis Cloke - joined local rides to amplify the cause.

Based on the fundraiser total and rider response to this year’s second event, United We Ride has solidified its place as a flagship moment for the riding community.
It’s also important to note that this isn’t just an event for Harley-Davidson owners and H.O.G. Chapters. United We Ride welcomes all riders, regardless of the brand of motorcycle they ride, it’s age or style. It’s these everyday enthusiasts that make this charity ride so special – coming together to support a common cause that extends far beyond the open road.

Important to Support
Of the participating Australian dealerships, Richardson’s Harley-Davidson in Launceston, Tasmania, gathered 140 riders and raised almost $25,000. The top Kiwi dealer was Southern Legends Harley-Davidson in Canterbury, which raised more than $5,000.
The Top Individual Fundraiser this year, Rayleen Glover, received a new Harley-Davidson X350S motorcycle, corporate passes to this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, a Quad Lock voucher, set of Michelin tyres and two years’ worth of roadside assistance from insurer, Allianz. There were also prizes supplied by Harley-Davidson and others for the second- and third-highest individual fundraisers.
Rebecca Franke, who raised more than $10,000, participated in the ride from Harley Heaven, Adelaide. Her motivation to be a part of United We Ride this year was to join with other riders, and more importantly, support a cause she has a special affection for.
“For me, United We Ride is an incredible opportunity to bring the riding community together,” Franke explained. “Being able to raise money for a charity like the Salvation Army is so close to my heart, helping individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or just going through tough times means the world to me.
“The camaraderie within the motorcycle community is truly heartwarming, and I’m already looking forward to next year.”

Praise from the Boss
Speaking on how the second edition of United We Ride drew similar enthusiasm, support and important funds for The Salvation Army as last year’s first edition, Mark O'Flaherty, Managing Director Harley-Davidson Australia & New Zealand, said the outcome was inspiring.
“United We Ride is a powerful reflection of what our rider community can achieve when we come together behind a cause that matters, and one that has supported many people within our community at some point in their lives,” O’Flaherty said.
“Seeing our dealerships and thousands of riders across Australia and New Zealand rally behind The Salvation Army, raise vital funds and share the experience with their local riding communities has been truly inspiring.
“We’re immensely proud of the passion and generosity shown by everyone involved, and grateful to every rider, dealer and partner who helped make this year’s United We Ride such a success.”
