Pricing confirmed, pre-orders open for Suzuki’s 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R

Suzuki Motorcycles Australia has opened pre-orders for the 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R, with customers able to secure their bike now ahead of local delivery from August, 2026. At the same time pre-orders opened, Suzuki also revealed local pricing for the sports bike that celebrates four decades of GSX-R performance and racing heritage. 

Priced from $30,990 ride away, the 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R features revised internals for the 999cc inline four engine, an increased compression ratio, new cylinder head design and slimmer muffler, all aimed at improving performance. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector remains, offering three selectable throttle response settings – Active, Basic and Comfort - to suit different riding conditions. Launch control has been updated, with new features for the Smart TLR Control traction control introduced. The 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R also gains a new, lightweight battery.

A choice of three colour schemes - Pearl Vigor Blue and Pearl Tech White, Candy Daring Red and Pearl Tech White, and Pearl Ignite Yellow with Mat Stellar Blue - are said to be inspired by liveries from past GSX-R machines in Superbike and Endurance racing competition. Other cosmetic changes include gold anodised front brake mounts, a black fuel cap, and grey magneto and clutch covers.

Identification for this special GSX-R1000R comes in the form of subtle ‘40th Anniversary’ emblems on the fairing, fuel tank and key.

Customers can secure their 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R now through Suzuki’s ‘Build and Order’ platform at suzukimotorcycles.com.au. The online process allows buyers to reserve their machine, nominate their preferred Suzuki dealer for delivery, and secure priority allocation with a $1,000 (minimum) deposit. 

All Australian-delivered bikes will come with aerodynamic carbon winglets and a colour-matched seat cowl as standard, enhancing the race-inspired styling and track-ready presence. 

The first 40 confirmed online pre-order customers will receive an exclusive “Collectors Garage Pack” that includes a 40th Anniversary Garage Mat, Unique 40th Anniversary Indoor Bike Cover, Bike Stand & Bobbins.

Dealer allocation for the 40th Anniversary GSX-R1000R will be determined strictly by the original Register of Interest submission date, with customers who registered earliest receiving priority when the initial shipment arrives.
