Perth to host World Supercross double-header
SX Global, the official promoters of the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), have released their calendar for the 2024 WSX series, with Australia to once again be part of the action. After Melbourne hosted a round last year, this time it’s Perth’s turn, with back-to-back rounds of the international supercross series to be held in the Western Australian capital in late November.

The 2024 WSX kicks off in Vancouver, Canada, on 26 October. Rounds 2 and 3 will be held in Perth on the weekend of 23 and 24 November, before the championship wraps up in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 4 December.
The venue for the Australian round is HBF Park, an outdoor arena with a 20,500-seat capacity that’s located just minutes from the Perth CBD. The home ground for A League team, Perth Glory, HBF Park has hosted international soccer, rugby league, rugby union and many concerts in the past.

“When the FIM World Supercross Championship set out on its pilot season in 2022, the goal was to take supercross to an international level by bringing it to an engaged yet underserved global audience, while vying to identify and gain a foothold in new regions and markets with previously untapped potential," said SX Global Executive Chairman, Andy Edwards, who took on the role in May.
“With races in Vancouver, Perth and Abu Dhabi, our 2024 season builds upon this, but only represents the tip of what we want to achieve with WSX in the long term. We’re looking forward to continuing our journey this year and can’t wait to engage audiences globally with the most exciting racing supercross has to offer.”

Last year’s WSX champions were Ken Roczen (SX1 - 450) and Max Anstie (SX2 - 250), with Luke Clout the best-placed Aussie, finishing third in SX2. This year's rider lineups are yet to be confirmed, but should Roczen return, he'll be aiming for his third successive XSW 450 title.
Tickets for the Australian WSX double-header on 23-24 November were still to be released at time of writing. Check in with wsxchampionship.com for further details, or sign up to the WSX newsletter for pre-sale access, the latest WSX news and more.
