Marc Marquez re-signs with Ducati Lenovo Team
Marc Marquez will remain “in red” with the Ducati Lenovo Team until the end of 2028 after signing a new two-year contract. The 33-year-old Spaniard, who won the 2025 MotoGP World Championship in his first season with the factory Ducati team, is aiming to go back-to-back in 2026. Despite being winless in the first five rounds this season, Marquez had cut a 100+ point deficit to the championship leader to just 18 points at time of writing.

In 2025, Marquez’s performance on the factory Ducati Desmosedici was nothing short of dominant: 14 Sprint wins and 11 GP victories, 10 of which were doubles (Sprint and GP at the same round). Securing the Riders' Championship with five rounds in hand, Marquez also finished the 2025 season with the all-time points record (545 points) for the premier class.

This season, Marquez has taken some time to get going, but his first GP win for the year, achieved at the Hungarian round, was notable. The Spaniard’s 100th victory across all classes (74 in MotoGP, 16 in Moto2, and 10 in 125cc) was also Ducati’s 100th in Grand Prix competition. Fittingly, the 100th win for Ducati was delivered in the Borgo Panigale manufacturer’s centenary year.

“I'm red. I'm truly happy with this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family,” Marquez said. “When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced it was the most competitive project. They believed in me, and we built a relationship based on trust and hard work.
“With this renewal, they have once again reaffirmed this commitment, respecting my times and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision.

“In our first year together, we fought for the title and won it: a priceless result that confirms that the path we had chosen was the right one.
“I continue to compete because I love this sport and I want to achieve even more ambitious goals. I'm convinced this is the right place to do it. As long as I'm here, I'll give my all to paint the future red”.
