Ixon Yuga – the smart glove for winter
Winter is coming, which brings with it the challenge of keeping your hands warm when adventure riding. Heated grips work, but heated gloves are often better. There are many heated glove options out there, but the Yuga glove from Ixon is different. Built-in thermoregulation technology keeps your hands at a constant temperature - that you set and control.
Keeping your hands warm, dry and comfortable, the Yuga glove lets you concentrate on the trail ahead.

Part of Ixon’s IT-Series, the Yuga glove utilises ‘clim8’ technology that knows when and how to keep your hands warm. Using the downloadable climb8 app (to set and monitor the heating elements), you can calibrate the Yuga to your preferred temperature setting.
Smart sensors in each glove activate the battery-powered heating element as soon as they detect your hand, then warm to the selected temperature automatically. The heating element runs from the inner cuff, over the upper hand and around each finger, ending on the heel of the hand.

Once your selected temperature has been reached, climb8 tech keeps the gloves at that temperature, reacting in real time to changing weather conditions. Monitoring your hand temperature and desired settings, the algorithm-driven heating technology means the Yuga never gets too hot or too cold. As temperatures are pre-set in the app, there’s no need to take your hands off the ‘bars to adjust the glove’s heat setting, as you would with some other heated glove types or heated grips.
The heating element in each glove is powered by a light, compact lithium-ion battery that should see out a full day’s ride before recharging, but battery life does depend on the heat setting (higher temp = shorter life). Batteries need to be removed for recharging, and it’s recommended they be removed whenever the gloves aren’t in use, too.

In terms of the Yuga’s construction, the waterproof softshell outer adds goat leather reinforcement in key impact and abrasion areas. Leather-covered knuckle shells and TRP sliders provide CE Level 1 protection.
Primaloft insulation maximises the effectiveness of the heating element, while a breathable polar fleece and micro fleece lining maximises comfort. Long cuffs hold the batteries for the heating element, while the Velcro wrist strap has a Tanka rainproof fastening.
There’s also a visor wiper on the left index finger and touchscreen compatible index fingers on each hand.

Yuga adventure gloves are available in black/blue and men’s S-3XL sizes for $429.95 RRP (including batteries and standard charger). Higher capacity batteries and a charger that connects to your motorcycle battery are available separately.
There’s also the Ixon ‘Yasur’ heated glove for urban riding that has the same smart heating technology.
