2014 Moto3 provisional entry list
Team Calvo and Go&Fun Gresini Moto3 are yet to confirm their second riders, partnering Jakub Kornfeil and Niccolo Antonelli, respectively. RW Racing GP, who fielded Jasper Iwema this year, will run a two-bike Kalex/KTM package for 2014, but have yet to confirm both riders.
In 2014, Australia will once again be represented by Jack Miller and Arthur Sissis, but both will be with new teams. Miller has joined the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad, while Sissis will ride for Mahindra Racing.
Red Bull KTM Ajo has had a complete rider cleanout, with Miller replacing Sissis, and Luis Salom and Zulfahmi Khairuddin also gone, replaced by Danny Kent and 2013 Red Bull Rookies Cup champion, Karel Hanika. Kent moves back to Moto3 after spending a largely unsuccessful season with Tech3 in Moto2 this year, his place in that squad taken by Alex Marinelarena.
Salom, who won seven races in Moto3 this season and finished a close third in the championship, moves up to Moto2 with Tuenti HP40 Pons for 2014, while Khairuddin will stay in Moto3, with the Ongetta-AirAsia Honda team.
Post-season testing at Jerez earlier this week saw Miller adapt to his new KTM quickly, setting the fastest time at the end of the session. Reflecting the edge that KTM has over the rest of the class (including the Honda Miller rode this year), the top four place getters were all on KTM machines.
Miller's best of 1'47.290 was just over four tenths ahead of next-best Danny Kent. Sissis was sixth fastest, with a best lap time of 1'48.574.
