Seller's Description
Got this bike in 2023 in fairly weathered condition and it had not run for a number of years. Once I knew the cylinder bores were in good condition, I took a chance on the motor being okay. After fixing the electrics, cleaning the carbs and tank the engine fired up straight away and sounded great. It took the best part of a year to recommission it with the following works: new wheel bearings, new brake pads, brake discs and calibers refurbished, rear suspension linkage refurbished with new bearings, seals, lowering links and pivot bolts, new swing arm bearings and seals, new headstock bearings and seals, new paint (original colour) and decals, new instruments including voltmeter with two USB outlets, new pod filters with matching main jets, new tyres, new indicators, seat recovered and much more. All fluids replaced in engine, forks, brake and clutch systems and radiator. The bike came with Staintune mufflers and adjustable Wilbers rear shock. Not sure how many km's this bike has done. The broken speedo which came with the bike shows 4,909km and to date I have done 3,221km. The bike looks great, runs, handles and stops well. I now know why these bikes are nick named "Steamer" - because they pull like a train. Winner of the MCMA 2024 concourse. Registration is not transferable because it is on historic plates.
