Seller's Description
The 1970 T120R Bonneville, considered by many as the zenith of over 10 years of development of this classic model. Drop dead gorgeous, fast for its age and definitely an ‘old codger magnet’ (park it anywhere and you’ll know what I mean). This is a matching engine and frame numbers bike with only 12,856 miles on the clock. The paint is the original Astral Red that the bike rolled off from the production line with 54 years ago (bike is a March 1970 build), which along with the black frame and side panels is in good condition. I have basically kept this bike as is since I bought it 6 years ago, as the previous owner said, to do a nuts and bolts restoration devalues this classic bike. For it’s age the bike rides well, has no issues moving through city traffic and is more than capable of doing freeway speeds (currently on non-transferable Club plates). Plus the twin 8 inch leading shoe break will pull you up when needed. I have owned the bike for 6 years and covered just over 6,000 ks . Since owning I have: - fitted an Amal Premier carb. - fitted a TriSpark ignition electronic ignition. - fitted a modern rectifier/regulator. - Head and rocker boxes blasted. - valves & springs replaced and seated. - rear chain replaced. - cylinders honed and new rings. Only reasonable offers considered.
