For sale is our family heirloom, a 1955 AJS 350 Single, Model 16MS with a 4-speed gearbox. The bike was owned by my now 93 year old father since the 1980’s. It became part of my collection about 18 years ago when he could not ride it any longer. The engine is really still a "pre-war" design, so when you ride early singles it really brings back the feel of yesteryear. Once you find her sweet spot somewhere around 55 MP/H (90 km/h) she feels like she'll stomp along to the end of the world and back. There are a few non standard improvements on this bike which include the conversion to the later model alloy primary drive cover (no oil leaks from the cover!), a well working telescopic fork with a full size duplex drum brake and a clever adjustment mechanism for the primary drive chain. In the past few years it had regular but little use. However, since I have retired I do spend a fair amount of time travelling and I am not able to spend as much time with my bikes as they demand and deserve. I think I priced the bike fairly taking into account its condition and since this is not an urgent sale I would appreciate only serious enquiries.
