Seller's Description
A variation of the Gold Star was the Competition Model, designed for events like the ISDT. Basically a Gold Star bottom end with a special cast iron head and barrel and ZB Gold Star running gear, very unusual and possibly unique in unrestored form. Even more unusually, this bike has the painted, rather than chrome tank, a feature of British bikes of the early 1950s, due to the nickel shortage caused by the Korean war.
This bike comes with all the original paperwork and tools supplied when new plus various spares including super rare Vokes air cleaner and custom pannier rack.
On the road it is much more powerful than your average 500 single and will happily maintain 100kph two up. On club permit and located in central Victoria.
